Joe Biden was scheduled to deliver remarks on the Hamas ambush terror attack on Israel at 1 pm ET on Tuesday. However, he arrived 90 minutes late and this was the first time the public had seen him since Saturday.
During his 10-minute address, Joe Biden confirmed that 14 Americans in Israel have been taken hostage by Hamas terrorists.
“Sadly for the Jewish people, it’s not new. This attack is brought to the surface painful memories & the scars left by a millennia of anti-Semitism and genocide of the Jewish people…We must be crystal clear. We stand with Israel…and we will make sure it has what it needs to take care of its citizens and defend itself,” Biden said.
Joe Biden denounced Hamas in response to their attack on Israel, which occurred shortly after he pledged $6 billion in exchange for hostages.
He did not mention Iran, however, as they are believed to have a strong influence over the militant group.
“It is clear that there is no justification for terrorism, and no excuse can be made for the actions of Hamas. The organization does not represent the right to dignity of the Palestinian people; instead, its stated purpose is the annihilation of Israel and murder of Jewish people. All that Hamas has provided is terror and bloodshed.” Biden said.
Biden confirmed Hamas is currently holding 14 American hostages.
“We now know that American citizens are among those being held by Hamas,” Biden said.
Several Americans were reportedly killed in the ambush terror attack and many have been taken hostage.
After 10 minutes, Biden turned his back on reporters and shuffled away.
