Bus Driver Fired from Job After He Shoots Rider Who Pulled a Gun on Him and Threatened to “Pop Your A**” – With Video

A Charlotte, NC bus driver has been fired after he shot a man with a gun that said he was going to kill him. The driver shot the man in the abdomen and he then ran away.

Omar Shariff Tobias, a convicted felon with a gun got on the bus with a gun and threatened the driver. The Charlotte bus company fired the driver saying:

“We don’t want anyone possessing weapons on our vehicles.”

Well, duh. That didn’t prevent Tobias from bringing a gun on board. How many lives did the driver, David Fullard, save that day? If he had not had his gun on him, how many people could have been killed?

How many riders or their relatives could have sued the bus company? The woke officials at the bus company should have been grateful, but obviously, they were more worried about the criminal than their passengers.

ABC Local reported:

There was a dramatic shootout on a public bus in North Carolina.

The Charlotte-area transit system released surveillance video from the May 18 incident. According to investigators, the shooting started after a passenger got into an argument with the bus driver.

The ride had been uneventful until a man with a hoodie got on. Omarri Shariff Tobias allegedly tried to ride without paying. Words were exchanged with David Fullard, the driver.

At some point, the 22-year-old Tobias asked Fullard to be let off the bus, but Fullard refused, as they had not arrived at a bus stop. Tobias continued to argue and made several threats, before he pulled a gun on the driver.

Fullard drew a handgun of his own and opened fire. The shootout between the men was captured on multiple interior cameras. Passengers ducked for cover while Tobias made a hasty retreat down the center aisle on his stomach

Tobias then took cover against the rear exit beside another passenger. Fullard got up from his seat, took aim at Tobias and fired three more shots.

Fullard pursued Tobias off the bus, and fired a last shot at him, which concluded the exchange. Fullard was shot in the arm and is recovering at home, while Tobias was shot in the abdomen. He got out of the hospital and went to jail on numerous charges.

The bus company fired Fullard and in a statement, said it is against company policy for an employee to have a weapon on its property or while doing their job.

If I was a bus rider in Charlotte, I would be looking for an alternative other than the bus.

  1. If he is not doing time in prison then he is not a convicted felon. Convicted felons are locked up.

  2. I guess the bus company would have preferred more innocent getting shot. Do they not believe in “self defense”?

  3. Part of the leftist movement. Products of the “free sex” society and their ungodly agendas.

  4. First, let’s set the scene. There were three passengers on the bus (not a bus load of people): Tobias (the man with the gun), a man seated on the right side of the bus near the front door, and a woman in the back. Second, there was no reason why Tobias needed to get off the bus after the bus began moving. He could have just waited a few minutes before the next stop was reached. Third, there was no reason for Tobias to have pulled his handgun. Fourth, there was no reason to tell the bus driver that he was going to kill him. Fifth, there was obviously a good reason for the bus driver to have a handgun with him on his route. Sixth, there was no reason why the bus driver should have waited to see if he was going to be killed and, therefore, he had good reason to pull his weapon and to shoot Tobias. Seventh, there was no good reason to fire the bus driver. Yes, he violated company policy, but his overall employment reviews should have been taken into consideration for his violation. If he had been a good employee, give him a couple of days off for his “failure to follow company policy.” And, I would send him to a class on how to use a firearm. He unloaded his firearm and he only hit Tobias once? That should have been the major policy offense.

  5. The bus company does not want guns on their buses. Great. Tell that to the crooks and criminals. What is it that makes liberals so stupid. Do the drivers not have a right to protect and defend themselves and their passengers? The driver should have been promoted. At the very least given a raise and an all expense paid vacation with his family to recover from his wound. Criminals need to be SHOT.
