Chinese ‘Shadow Labs’ Evidence Emerges From Wuhan Institute Of Virology

It appears that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been operating a “shadow lab” at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV).

The heavily redacted State Department cable obtained by watchdog group U.S. Right To Know in August 2020 contains sections including “PLA Contractor Involved in the Construction of the Wuhan Institute of Virology,” “PLA Presence Continued After Construction Completed” and “WIV Personnel with Possible PLA Ties,” suggesting that there is evidence of military involvement at this facility.

The cables were routed through the American Institute in Taiwan, which effectively functions as a U.S. embassy on the island.

Former Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Science, Space, and Health Johnathan Margolis and David Feith, deputy assistant secretary for regional and security policy and multilateral affairs in the State Department’s East Asian and Pacific Bureau are among those named on an email thread containing this information.

Two other cables obtained by USRTK address Beijing’s focus on “military-civil fusion” research as well as their coverup of data regarding COVID-19 during its early days: “Initial Outbreak Could Have Been Contained in China if Beijing Had Not Covered It Up,” reads one such section of these documents.

Lead researcher Shi Zhengli had previously claimed there was no classified research happening at her lab; however, these newly uncovered cables throw doubt onto those assertions due to her close collaborations with Western scientists such as Peter Daszak from EcoHealth Alliance – an organization which has received millions of dollars in taxpayer money from agencies like NIH to fund work at WIV – who have worked on gain-of-function research related to bat-based viruses.

Some experts believe COVID-19 may have been accidentally released from this very laboratory after being genetically modified or engineered within it – something which could’ve been avoided had proper safety measures been taken by CCP leadership when they initially became aware of its existence back in 2019.

EcoHealth Alliance is the U.S.-based non-profit that has funneled millions of taxpayer dollars to the WIV via grants from government agencies like the National Institutes of Health.
