U.S. Sen. John Fetterman, a Democrat, encountered anti-Israel protesters who had been detained by Capitol police on Thursday while he was carrying a miniature Israeli flag.
The individuals were wearing Veterans Demand Ceasefire T-shirts and reacted angrily to his presence, with one shouting “You’re a horrible human being!” as he passed by.
The crowd booed him and shouted “Shame!,” while chanting “What do we want? Ceasefire! When do we want it? Now!” Fetterman remained silent throughout the encounter.
The progressive group About Face labeled Fetterman a “jackass” for his stance on the situation in Gaza, citing an incident with veterans who were arrested while protesting and asking to meet with Senator Gillibrand.
They argued that leaders should listen to veterans who are calling for a Cease Fire Now.
This isn’t the first time Fetterman has expressed his support of Israel.
Last month, he criticized members of his own party for prematurely attributing blame to Israel over a hospital bombing in Gaza before it was confirmed that Hamas was responsible.
“It’s truly disturbing that Members of Congress rushed to blame Israel for the hospital tragedy in Gaza,” Fetterman said. “Who would take the word of a group that just massacred innocent Israeli civilians over our key ally?”
Also in October, Fetterman announced that he would highlight the identities of those Hamas abducted following its deadly surprise attack against Israel: “My office will display every last one of the innocent Israelis kidnapped by Hamas until they are safely returned home. We won’t stop sharing their stories until then.”
He also said last month, “Now is not the time to talk about a ceasefire. We must support Israel in efforts to eliminate the Hamas terrorists who slaughtered innocent men, women, and children. Hamas does not want peace, they want to destroy Israel. We can talk about a ceasefire after Hamas is neutralized.”

Anyone hear Biden calling for a Russia/Ukraine cease fire?
I’m a veteran and I don’t believe there should be a cease-fire! Israel should go in and wipe every last one of them out and too bad for those caught in the crossfire it’s called war! if we were worried about that in World War II we would’ve lost!!!
Fetterman is a slug, regardless of his Israel stance.
