It has long been known that President Joe Biden interacted with Hunter Biden’s business associates, according to a recent article published by the New York Times.
Devon Archer, a longtime business associate of Hunter’s, testified before Congress that Hunter put his father on speakerphone approximately 20 times during meetings with partners over the course of a decade.
This testimony appears to contradict the narrative maintained by President Biden for years – namely, his insistence that he had never been involved in Hunter’s overseas business dealings nor discussed any such matters with his son.
The New York Times article claimed matter-of-factly: “It has long been known that the elder Mr. Biden at times interacted with his son’s business partners.”
Fox News Radio host Guy Benson characterized this as “textbook gaslighting” due to its vagueness and contradiction of what Biden and the White House have repeatedly declared publicly.
The sentence used passive language (i.e., “it has long been known that …”), which raises questions surrounding who knew this information and for how long – as well as how many additional instances of interaction between Biden and his son’s business associates exist beyond those witnessed by Archer himself.
Last week, amid these revelations, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked whether or not President Biden stands by claims that he was not involved in Hunter’s business dealings nor ever discussed them with him – her response being “The president was never in business with his son.”
However, New York Times chief White House correspondent Peter Baker noted that Jean-Pierre did not address whether or not discussions about such matters had taken place between father and son – something which remains in question given Monday’s admission from the newspaper itself regarding interactions taking place among all parties involved.
In light of recent developments, it is clear there are still numerous unanswered questions surrounding both what happened between President Joe Biden and Hunter’s various associates over the years – as well as what specific conversations took place between father and son regarding any potential involvement in such dealings or related matters.
While facts remain scarce in this ongoing case, one thing is certain: further investigation is needed if we are to receive clarity on these important issues going forward.
