The House Judiciary Committee is conducting an investigation into allegations of politically motivated actions during the Hunter Biden investigation.
As part of this inquiry, the committee has requested transcribed interviews with Justice Department officials involved in the case.
Stuart Goldberg, from the Department of Justice’s Tax Division, and Martin Estrada, U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, are both scheduled to be interviewed on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.
The Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Jim Jordan, has worked with the Justice Department for months to make these hearings possible.
According to MSN, this inquiry is necessary in order to uncover any potential misconduct by DOJ agents during their investigations into Hunter Biden.
Attorney General Merrick Garland’s appointment of U.S. Attorney for Delaware David Weiss was to conduct an investigation into any related issues concerning the Biden probe will be put to the test as Weiss is set to appear before a closed-door transcribed interview.
Weiss was initially made available to testify before Congress in July by the Department of Justice; however, according to a Justice Department insider, they would prefer that he testify publicly.
Since 2018, Weiss has been at the helm of this long-running investigation and was appointed Special Counsel after allegations arose of political interference when it came to purchasing a firearm and providing false statements regarding information that a federal firearms licensed dealer was required to keep and having possession of a firearm while abusing or addicted to a controlled substance.
At a hearing earlier this month, the president’s son pleaded not guilty to all charges. Weiss has stated that the inquiry into his involvement is still ongoing.
Jordan provided purported proof of connections between President Joe Biden and his son, who had a seat on Burisma Holdings’ board from 2014 to 2019 according to attorney George Mesires.
“Burisma, I think, captures it all. Hunter Biden gets put on the board and gets paid a lot of money. Fact No. 2: He wasn’t qualified to be on the board. Fact No. 3: The Burisma executives asked him, ‘Can you help us with the pressure we are facing?’ Fact No. 4: Joe Biden gets [Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin] fired—leveraging American tax dollars to accomplish that,” he continued.
“And then what does the [Attorney General Merrick] Garland Justice Department do?” Jordan asked. “They try to sweep it under the rug, so much so that they allowed the statute of limitations to lapse for the most serious felony tax concerns Hunter Biden had in 2014 and 2015. They let it lapse because those were the years that dealt with the Burisma income,” he noted further.
Hunter Biden entered a plea of not-guilty in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, following his charging by Special Counsel David Weiss’s multi-year investigation.
Speaking on House Republicans providing leadership, Jordan said: “The American people right now, Maria, I think they are so thirsty for leadership. And I don’t think they’re seeing it from the White House. I don’t think they’re getting it from the Senate. House Republicans need to unite and show the country that we’re fighting for them. Think about what they see every day: crime in the streets, 10,000 illegals coming across the border every single day, the price of food, and what it costs to put gas in their car.
“I mean, they are hungry for leadership. We need to come together and show the American people we’re fighting for the things they care about that will make a difference for our great country,” Jordan continued.
