In response to the Capitol protests on January 6, Speaker Mike Johnson released security camera footage, causing uproar among Democrats.
Johnson noted that “the American people can always be trusted to evaluate information and make their own judgments and decisions”.
At the same time, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has called for further investigations into the incident, emphasizing accountability for those involved and who provided false testimony during the Jan 6th investigation.
The release of these tapes only highlighted how there was in fact, no insurrection.
It brought to light the immense strain placed on individuals awaiting trial or serving sentences due to the intense media scrutiny, public shaming, and legal pressures which contributed to a sense of hopelessness and isolation.

(Sen. Mike) Lee, Greene, and others have suggested that the select committee released videos that were biased in favor of showing a violent insurrection and blaming former President Donald Trump for sparking the crisis.
Now, they want that bias investigated and people charged if they withheld key evidence in the probe.
“Every member of the Jan 6th committee, Nancy Pelosi, FBI, DOJ, DC Police, Cap Police, Jan 6 witnesses who lied, all need to be subpoenaed,” said Greene.
“Criminal referrals must be written and prosecutions MUST happen under a Trump DOJ. I’ve said it all along, MAGA did not do this,” said Greene.
On his personal X, Lee singled out select committee leadership, writing, “Why didn’t Liz Cheney and Adam Kizinger ever refer to any of these tapes? Maybe they never looked for them. Maybe they never even questioned their own narrative. Maybe they were just too busy selectively leaking the text messages of Republicans they wanted to defeat.”
Greene’s statement calls for preparing criminal referrals and insists that prosecutions should occur under the Trump administration’s Department of Justice.
She emphasizes that this is essential to guaranteeing justice and rectifying any purported misconduct about the Jan 6th aftermath.

The Dems mantra of “Never Let A Crisis Go To Waste,” was in full display on Jan62021! Facts are that those in charge of the Capitol security were intentionally delinquent in their duties, and that whole operation was intended to be used for political gain. As Ripley would say, “BELIEVE IT OR NOT.”
I watched the “happenings” on television, of Jan 6. Even I could see instagators stiring up the crowd. I also knew there were several groups of bad people bussed in. How did I know this? I had a friend that was there that day and told me what she saw. It’s time those that set this up was charged and it is time that those on the Jan 6 committee was held accountable.
There are a lot of people that don’t like Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene but she is right again on this one. It truly bothers me a lot when I think of all those victims in a D.C. gulag serving a sentence for crimes never committed. I’d like to see punishment passed out to all of those who set this thing up just to make President Trump look bad.
