New Update In DA Bragg’s Case Against Trump After Federal Indictment

Two major cases against Donald Trump just took a big boost after the former president’s arraignment on federal charges related to his handling of classified documents on Tuesday in Miami. During an interview on MSNBC, New York Attorney General Letitia James acknowledged that her case as well as the one filed by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg against Trump “will have to be adjourned” due to the federal case taking precedence over both cases.

“In all likelihood, I believe that my case, as well as DA Bragg and the Georgia case, will have to be adjourned pending the outcome of the federal case,” James said. “So it all depends upon the scheduling of this particular case. I know there’s gonna be a flood, a flurry of motions, motion to dismiss, discovery issues, all of that. So it really all depends. Obviously, we are optimistic about what Judge [Aileen] Cannon is going to do and whether or not she will delay this particular case.”

Trump appeared in Miami on Tuesday for his arraignment in the case brought against him by Special Counsel Jack Smith who was appointed by Biden’s Department of Justice.

Trump pleaded “not guilty” through his attorneys in federal court and was granted pretrial release with no special conditions except no contact with witnesses. Smith has charged Trump with 37 counts related to his handling of classified documents; if found guilty on these counts Trump could face decades in prison.

Judge Goodman oversaw Trump’s arraignment which did not allow cameras or electronic devices into the courtroom but reporters relayed what they noticed while inside.

They reported that there was no apparent eye contact between Trump and Smith during proceedings and that Trump sat with his arms folded most of the time talking with his lawyers occasionally without speaking directly himself nor being addressed directly by Magistrate Judge Goodman either.

CNN’s Evan Perez, who was in the courtroom, reported:

“He had a very serious look on his face, periodically had his arms folded.”  “The former president entered the room probably about 30 or 40 minutes before the judge. We couldn’t see exactly when he entered the room because the televisions of the room that we were in were not turned on immediately, but we saw, you know, the lawyers take their seats and the former president sort of twiddling his thumbs while he waited for proceedings to take his place.”

Trump announced last Thursday that he had been indicted by the U.S. Department of Justice on charges connected to his handling of classified materials.

The charges “include willful retention of national defense information, conspiracy to obstruct justice, withholding a document or record, corruptly concealing a document or record, concealing a document in a federal investigation, a scheme to conceal, and false statements and representations,” ABC News reported.

  1. All this ia leading to JBs impeachment, what ever happens here will impack JBs impeachment, this is a waste of time and resourses it will eventually end up in the highest court of the land if his convicted on any one of those charges, if his cleared they will use it as a example to clear JB.

  2. This just goes to show people how corrupted the government has become. Starting with the top down. You have an ignorant fool running the USA, not making decisions himself, relying on others to make the real decisions. We didn’t elect those people that are making the decisions that affect the whole country sometimes the whole world. None of the world leaders want to do business with him because he says one thing then does the exact opposite when the time comes to make it happen. Just who is the puppet master, I don’t think anyone knows for sure, the people of this country are fed up with this nonsense.

  3. time has already past for JB impeachment, but the Republicans are a pack of losers and in bed with the Democrats lining their pockets and the Repulican dirbish in charge is the worst

  4. Not really, as JB didn’t have the authority to remove any classified documents before are after he left the VP office, he’s just crooked Joe and everyone knows it!
