Texas state officials rejected demands from the Biden administration to allow federal agents access to a border crossing area known as Eagle Pass.
They have set up razor wire to prevent the endless flow of Joe Biden’s illegal aliens into the state. Biden claims this is in violation of the Supreme Court ruling in the case as if Biden does not do that on a regular basis. You knw, like forgiving student loans.
A letter was sent to Joe Biden this week disallowing Biden to import more Democratic voters from every hell hole on the planet. Texas AG Ken Paxton disagreed with Biden’s take on the situation as he and Gov Greg Abbott insist they are acting in self defense on the border.
“As I said before, this office will continue to defend Texas’s efforts to protect its southern border against every effort by the Biden Administration to undermine the State’s constitutional right of self-defense. You should advise your clients to join us in those efforts by doing their job and following the law.”
“Your request is hereby denied.”
“The federal government has broken the compact between the United States and the States. The Executive Branch of the United States has a constitutional duty to enforce federal laws protecting States, including immigration laws on the books right now. President Biden has refused to enforce those laws and has even violated them. The result is that he has smashed records for illegal immigration.”
“That authority is the supreme law of the land and supersedes any federal statutes to the contrary. The Texas National Guard, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and other Texas personnel are acting on that authority, as well as state law, to secure the Texas border.”
Many Republicans have rushed to back Abbott’s defiance while some on the left have called on Biden to federalize the National Guard of Texas in order to reassert federal power.
Paxton’s letter Friday reiterates the claim that the actions of the government of Texas are made legally.
“Once again, I respectfully suggest that any time you might spend suing Texas should be redirected toward enforcing the immigration laws Congress already has on the books,” he wrote.
Texas is refusing to comply with a cease-and-desist letter from the Biden administration over actions by the state that have impeded U.S. Border Patrol agents from accessing part of the border with Mexico.
In a letter to the Department of Homeland Security, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton rejected the Biden administration’s request for the state to “cease and desist” its takeover of Shelby Park, an epicenter of southwest border illegal immigration in Eagle Pass.
“Because the facts and law side with Texas, the State will continue utilizing its constitutional authority to defend her territory, and I will continue defending those lawful efforts in court,” Paxton wrote.
When reached for comment, a DHS spokesperson referred NBC News to Department of Homeland Security General Counsel Jonathan Meyer’s letter this week directing the state to stop blocking the Border Patrol’s full access to roughly 2½ miles of the U.S.-Mexico border occupied by the state’s National Guard.
DHS officials said Saturday that a woman and two children drowned in the Rio Grande after Border Patrol agents “were physically barred by Texas officials from entering the area” under orders from Republican Gov. Greg Abbott.
Naturally, the story about the drowning is an utter lie, something NBC has perfected. The woman and her children never reached the American side of the river.
