In the short amount of time that Direct TV dropped Newsmax, its parent company AT&T lost $10 billion dollars on its market cap. People are canceling their subscriptions to Direct TV as a result. And it over yet, folks. Many people do not realize you can get Newsmax for free from your Roku network. At the same time that they cut Newsmax, they contin8e to pay fees to 22 liberal organizations to remain on their plan.
Now, it appears that AT&T’s wokeness is costing them as people toss Direct TV and sell off their AT&T stock. To date, they have lost $10 billion dollars from their market cap, or about 7%. More and more, Americans show their hatred for those who insist on trying to silence them. Considering the fact that Direct TV makes about 44 billion a year in profit, their income for the next 2 1/2 years will just cover their loss in one month. Are you listening, shareholders?
As a result, AT&T has lost $10 billion in value.
Since DirecTV dropped Newsmax on Jan. 24, AT&T’s stock has fallen by almost 7%, wiping nearly $10 billion from its market value.
AT&T, the 70% owner of DirecTV, has come under fierce criticism after deplatforming Newsmax from its satellite TV systems — the second conservative channel it has removed in the past year, with OAN going last April.
Days after the Newsmax drop, former President Donald Trump called on Americans to cancel not only DirecTV but all AT&T services, including cellular and wireless services.

Since the removal of Newsmax, AT&T stock appears to be significantly underperforming the market while major stock indices have held steady during the past 12 trading days.
The S&P 500 actually rose 0.37% between Jan. 25 and Feb. 10, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined just 1.84% between those dates.
Newsmax has been alerting its supporters about AT&T’s decision through its network, the fourth highest-rated cable news channel, reaching 25 million Americans, according to Nielsen.
Newsmax also reaches more than 40 million Americans through significant online platforms, apps, its social media network, as well as radio and print outlets.

There is only one way to stop corporations from going woke to the max and that is to stop giving them your money. Assuming that the stock price continues to drop, AT&T could very well decide to sell out, provided they could actually find a buyer, which is far from certain.

Just try to tell American people like myself what to watch or how to think and you’re business will find their doors are not being used for entry, just exits. Traveling around in one’s own little fog bank will increase it’s density for which there may be no recovery.
Congress needs to also force service providers to provide ‘al a carte’ service so woke channels have to stand on their own (i.e. CNN, Disney. etc.) and not be propped up by those of us who will never watch them.
I cancelled Direct TV the day they canceled OAN….I now have internet Only…a great Roku, and my freedom to choose. The communist ideology will not be tolerated in my house. Since then, I have saved $157.00 per month and have discovered more than enough channels and platforms to keep me entertained and informed like never before. I WILL NOT BE CENSORED!!!!
Dropped AT&T phone service AND Directv. The CEO and board must not realize that 50% or MORE of the population don’t go along with their liberal agenda and it’s really easy to cancel them and get the service from dozens of other providers, usually cheaper.

I worked for AT&T and this article is a joke. It’s nothing but garbage and a ploy to get people to request Newsmax to be on DIRECTV again. The market cap did not go down because DIRECTV dropped Newsmax. Newsmax is fake news and worthless propaganda and that’s why you don’t have very many subscribers. Trump lost to get over it.
